Laraine Flannery
June 28, 1943 - October 9, 2023

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Laraine Irene Kaye Flannery. She left the earth on Monday, October 9, 2023, after 80 years. She was a wonderfully giving and wise person, matriarch to her entire family, and esoteric guide to many.

Lara is predeceased by her husbands, Frank Flannery and Dave Brachetti, and survived by her beloved sons, Randolph (Linda) & Michael (Jennifer), grandchildren Kyle (Kassey), Dustin (Laura), Claire & Elyse, and great-grandchildren Autumn, Kendall & Forest. She is also survived by her siblings Diane (Gunther) Rubik, Bob (Debbie) Paradis, Linda Paradis, Sandra Spaziano, Barry Paradis and Brenda Aiken, and many other close family members (nieces, nephews and their children, and step-children).

Lara was born in Concord, New Hampshire, June 28th,1943, a Cancer with a Taurus moon, to Ida Mae Giradin and Harold Kaye. She moved to Staten Island, NY and Greenfield, NY, settling for her last 25 years in Ballston Spa, NY. Her careers included Homemaker, Bus Driver, Real Estate Broker, and LPN Nurse, the latter which she pursued in her 40’s to study medicine and help many others, particularly at Maplewood Manor and The Wesley Community, both in Ballston Spa, NY. Lara was an avid reader, treasured her study time, and loved tying together information across arts.

She strived to help us know our personas better, understand the cycles that affect us, and to use that knowledge to better see others and the world. She was very knowledgeable about Homeopathic medicine, Natural medicine (cell salts, herbs, magnetism, etc), Astrology, Numerology, Western medicine practices, Crystals, and History and Ancient Civilizations, among others. She absolutely thrived on learning! She treasured sharing her wisdom one-on-one, in a group (which she often held at her house, with her treasured like-minded friends and/or inquisitive and keen grandchildren and their friends), or in various presentations (such as the local and International Dowsing Club, as well as the SIMENS group).

At her home, whether you dropped in or planned it, there was always the large array of teas, next to a jar of honey, to enjoy with her across the kitchen table. She swam & socialized 3x a week with a group of friends at the Saratoga YMCA. Lara loved flowering plants and her vegetable gardens, canning, beekeeping (at one time), travelling and activities like camping in the Grand Canyon, sun gazing, walking the streets of Manhattan as well as boating at Lake Champlain, riding her 3-wheeler, and attending all family gatherings- always with a homemade something in hand. She enjoyed skyping multiple days a week across the “pond” with her sister Diane.

She bought her Christmas presents all year long, eagerly anticipating your glee at getting something unique, like the Annual Astrological calendar, or so very healthy, like electrolytes, vitamins, or an amazing book. GG was always happy to visit her great-grandchildren and often arrived with a special treat or a book.

Lara was a bright light to us all, and she left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. Thank you, Lara for touching our lives in so many ways and we will cherish you always!!

All are invited to a Celebration of Lara’s Life November 11, 1 pm – 5 pm
